The workshop presents up-to-date information to unemployed or under-employed low-income people to prepare them for today’s job market. A $50.00 Stipend is given at the end of the second day.
The subjects covered in the workshop include:
1. Taking Inventory- Includes such things as work and financial interests, transferable skills, employment barriers and solutions, as well as career goals.
2. Career Exploration– Includes such things as job search techniques and resume and cover letter writing.
3. Getting and Keeping the Job- Includes application and interview techniques, job etiquette and Equal Opportunity Rights.
Workshop participants have the opportunity
to work in our computer lab to write resumes and cover letters, and to perform job searches via the internet. If participants need additional assistance with their job search after the workshop, there are Case Managers on Staff to assist.
