Energy Assistance – LIHEAP

Summer ECIP (June 1, 2010 to September 30, 2010 or until all funding has been distributed)

Eligible clients must be residents of Jackson, Clay, or Platte County, Missouri.

Clients are eligible, but not guaranteed, to receive ECIP utility assistance up to $300 during the Summer ECIP period.

All clients who apply for LIHEAP assistance need to provide the following documentation:

  • Verification of the previous month’s gross income
  • SSN cards for every household member
  • Head of Household’s Picture ID
  • Disconnect Notice or Final Bill

*Depending upon their current situation, a client may be required to make a co-payment toward their utility bill or receive assistance from outside agencies.

Regarding our previous winter season:
Effective March 31, 2010, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for Energy Assistance (EA) will come to a close for public access. Community Action Agencies are to stop distributing, either through mail or hand-out, LIHEAP applications for Energy Assistance purposes at the close of business March 31, 2010.  The last day to accept a LIHEAP application for Energy Assistance purposes will be April 16, 2010. Agencies may accept LIHEAP applications for Energy Assistance purposes with a returned postmark of April 16th or earlier.
